Reclaiming Wonders
A young blonde boy with a serious expression is sitting at a wooden table, using a fork to eat from a white plate filled with a fresh green salad, likely a Caesar salad. In front of the plate is a long, thin stick or twig, resembling a makeshift toy gun that the boy seems to be treasuring. The scene takes place in what appears to be a restaurant or dining area, with a dark blue bench or booth seating visible in the background. The boy is wearing a navy blue shirt or sweater, suggesting a casual setting.

Boy Treasures His 'Stick Gun' at Restaurant

This is not a story about a little boy who eats Caesar salad but about "stick gun". The stick he found, declared it his, proudly Carried it around Kemah (without losing it!) and has loved it for two days. Yes, it sat on the table at Saltgrass. He pretended not to listen as we talked and, upon hearing what we said that he didn't like, maintained a nonchalant lack of eye contact... picked up stick gun and pointed it right to shoot Melissa and in front to shoot me... pew pew... placed it back down and continued eating as if it had never happened. This is about the mess under my covers as we went to bed tonight to find a mess in the sheets. And realize stick gun had slept at nap time as well. Here's to letting your kids pick up sticks and treasure them. Because why not?
