Signs of Disordered Eating Habits

But first… mindset: If you’ve been challenging old habits, intrusive thoughts, compulsive behaviors around food, body image, etc - please please take extra care of yourself this month Disordered beliefs and habits disguised as health will be some of the NY resolutions this months - and those will stand out more to those of us who’ve been there before It’s also important to know that if you’re like me, you may interpret a message the wrong way, and has nothing to do with the actual post I think the very best thing that I know to do when this happens is to double down on the work we’ve been doing. Proving to our bodies and minds that we’re OK and in fact mentally healthier if we counteract with thoughts of how bad ass our bodies are at taking care of us we when take care of it and actions to back that up What we eat and how we move can 100% healthy, of course! A healthy action for one person might be destructive to another & it’s all in how we think and feel about it, and the actions we take around it. So here are some red flags for a self check —> Symptoms of disordered eating: * Frequent dieting, anxiety associated with specific foods or meal skipping  * Chronic weight fluctuations * Rigid rituals and routines surrounding food and exercise * Feelings of guilt and shame associated with eating * Preoccupation with food, weight and body image that negatively impacts quality of life * A feeling of loss of control around food, including compulsive eating habits * Using exercise, food restriction, fasting or purging to “make up for bad foods” consumed Did any of these surprise you?
