Embracing the Joy of Being a Beginner

Ok hear me out: Accomplishing big things is an amazing feeling, but it seems like we’ve only given ourselves permission to really feel great about those accomplishments. To top it off, the fear of failure or dislike of not being good at something really stops us from even trying in the first place. I know that starting rock climbing at 35, I’ll never be at the top of the league, and I’ll likely never win a gravel bike race or backpack the most miles in one summer and tbh, I don’t have a desire to go after any of those things But I will have a truly fufilling, fun, exciting, community-rich life by just freaking trying So here’s to being a beginner, being average (not as people but at sports and such), to doing things just for fun or to feel accomplished just because you tried Are you content being average at something you do?!
