Close to Denver:
Golden Gate Canyon State Park:

Rocky Mountain National Park:

You really can’t go wrong here!
Breckenridge:

Drivable:
🔸Fall Ridge Road

Hard to get to towns but worth it:
🔸Steamboat Springs, Telluride, Aspen
Tips:
🔸Search the area you want to visit on AllTrails and read recent trail reviews to see how the leaves are doing
🔸Peak leaf peeping times are given in a range (mid September-mid October) but they can be gone by October easily with a big overnight freeze or two
🔸Go Early! - When the leaves are peaking, these areas will be incredibly busy
