Backpacking Tips for Summer Adventures

šŸ“SAVE this post for backpacking tips! Itā€™s finally warm enough to get out there (for me! I know some of you have already been out there šŸ˜‹) Last year, I did two bucket list backpacking trips in Western Colorado. I learned A LOT, but here are the things I found most helpful.ā€ØšŸ»šŸ»šŸ»PS donā€™t miss slide 10 where we saw a mama bear and two cubs!! šŸŽ’ Get your pack fitted! Not every pack is designed for your body, and while itā€™s nice to get your favoriet color, your body might suffer in the long run. I tried two packs and ended up choosing the @gregorypacks Maven 65 āš–ļøShare weight! I brought a four-person backpacking tent, so we split up the weight amongst ourselves. One person carried the bear bin with food, and the other two split the tent weight! ā›ŗļø Pack your tent in stuff sacks! The tent bags are usually a weird shape and bulky, making them hard to fit into your pack. Pack items in stuff sacks to keep them smaller and more able to split up between people šŸ¦Ÿ Bug Spray! Where thereā€™s water, thereā€™s bugs! Youā€™re defitnily going to need it on most backpacking trails in the summer šŸ„¾ Try out your shoes! ooof, you do not want to get a full day in and realize your shoes hurt your feet! Last year, I used the @hoka Kaha 2 Lows (in purple ofc) for backpacking, and they were amazing! This year, Iā€™ll opt for trail runners to save my ankles and a bit of weight šŸ¬ Bring a treat! Youā€™re going to want some treats yall! The BEST thing at the top of a pass is some Nerds Clusters or Pink Starburst trussst me! And the @mtnhouse creme brulee is so necessary after a hard day heh I hope these tips make your journey a little easier this summer!
