Why Templates Keep You Broke

Those templates keep you broke 😭 šŸ“Œ Make sure to save this post for reference later. For years I would use a template I found in some influencers ebook as if it were the gospel truth. I thought that if I paid $49 for it it must be worth something. It wasn’t till 2 years later that I realized the script was designed to get free collabs. Great for a 1 time experience. Awful for staying in business šŸ’€ So this was my routine 1. Spam copy & paste to a bunch of marketing managers. 2. Get ghosted, told no, or ā€œwe only do exchangesā€ by everyone. 3. Get discouraged and go shoot a random wedding so I could afford life. 4. Repeat. Not a great recipe for success. But fast forward to today and I’ve worked with many of the top travel companies in the world. So what changed? First I subtracted šŸ‘‡ 1. My long bio Honestly strangers don’t care and saying you have 2 years of experience means nothing for them. They could work with anyone they want so that doesn’t make you stand out. 2. Any mention of social metrics. This is a dead giveaway that you’re an influencer (ahem they can give a free collab) unless you have 100k+ leading with a follower count only hurts you. And tbh I never do. 3. Specific deliverables and pricing. You don’t even know what they need so how could you recommend something for them to buy? It’s like going on a first date and asking the girl to marry you. Good luck getting a 2nd date. 4. Long messages. No one has time (or desire) to sit down and read an essay. Keep it short (like 5 sentences or less) šŸ‘‰ once I stripped it down I added… 1. Result based case study You wouldn’t buy something on Amazon without reviews and clients won’t take you serious without results. 2. Simple CTA Offer free value up front. Something that’s easy to say YES to like a strategy breakdown or content ideas. šŸ‘‰ If you want to see my full framework for crafting outreach messages that work comment ā€œTROJANā€ and I’ll send it over. Be blessed and stay stoked šŸ˜ŽšŸ¤™
