Unanswered Prayers: Blessings in Disguise
Thanks for nothing. -
We often are reminded to be thankful for what we have, but what about what we don’t have? Sometimes I think it’s good to reflect on the things that we prayed for and were denied, only to discover that it was actually a great thing. In the timeless words of Garth Brooks “some of Gods greatest gifts are unanswered prayers” here’s a few of mine... -
I wanted so badly to go to film school in LA. I even flew out, interviewed and was offered 1 of 2 half ride scholarships out of the over 50 people who interviewed. It was the hardest thing to turn down. But my parents had the foresight to steer me towards a Christian school that forever changed the course of my life. -
When I was a sophomore I wanted to drop out. I’d talk with my parents quite often about it. Not because I was a delinquent or didn’t like school, but because I genuinely thought I could make more career progress by just being in the industry. Although I do think I would have been just fine if I dropped out, again my life would probably look a lot different and I wouldn’t have the friends and opportunities that I do now. -
In October 2019 I had been planning for a few months to take a trip to Egypt. For whatever reason it didn’t work out last minute. Around that time, Abby, who I had recently met, asked me if I would like to go to the big island sometime because she lived there for 2 years and wanted to show me around. Because my other trip was cancelled I asked her if we could do it that weekend... and the rest is history. -
Sometimes the greatest blessing is the prayer that doesn’t get answered. -
Be blessed and stay stoked 😎🤙 -
