The Illusion of Future Happiness
Living for tomorrow’s happiness is a false illusion. -
We live in a culture of discontentment. We are programmed every single day to never be satisfied and never have enough. In fact in the digital marketing age, there are people who’s entire job title is to find new ways to exploit your desires and make you feel like you need more. -
The problem with this kind of thinking, is that you are never satisfied. I know that it’s one of my biggest struggles, living in the present. For some reason my personality is very impatient and future focused. I’m always looking out to what’s next and how I can make something better. -
Although this is great for innovation, It’s hard to live in gratitude when you’re constantly wanting more. Living a life of gratitude is one of the single most important things we can do and doing so requires a commitment to the present. It means recognizing the people and things God places in our lives and showing appreciation for them and to God giving us them. -
When you make this mindset shift you slowly start to realize that living for tomorrows happiness is an illusion because future focused thinking will never be satisfied. -
Be blessed and stay stoked 😎🤙 - •
