The amount of posts I see that teach people how to get free stays at hotels or free product exchanges is really sad. The reality is, if you only knew your value, you would never dream of considering a project like that. I have multiple clients I’ve worked with that have done the free collab thing and have realized that although it’s fun for a few days, it’s a lot of work, and the company benefits way more in most cases than they do so they leave feeling taken advantage of. If you feel like all your pitches are only getting met with free collab offers there’s a reason for it: you aren’t pitching something of value. I know it hurts the ego but check it out. If the brand isn’t even willing to pay you $500 for the work you do, clearly they don’t value it, so you have to make a shift. The days of reaching out and offering to shoot x amount of content in exchange for y compensation is over. Production companies don’t operate this way and they’re the ones getting multiple 6 figure budgets. Can you imagine a production company reaching out to Marriott and saying I’ll shoot you a commercial as long as you let us stay at your place for free?!? NOOOO! Absolutely not lol. Companies have the budget, but they spend the budget on things they find valuable. How do they determine what’s valuable? We’ll it’s a business so if they can see that your content will bring a return on its investment in the next year it’s typically a good investment. The problem is most creators don’t realize this. By making a few switches in your pitch you can drastically increase your rates. I’m dropping a YouTube video today that details how you can do it for yourself, or if you want to work with me personally DM me CREATE and I’ll walk you through my process! I hate to see creators taken advantage of. You are worth way more than a free collab! Be blessed and stay stoked 😎🤙
