Persistence in Pursuing Your Creative Dream

You’re not alone 👇 2 years after moving to Hawaii, a lot of people I met through photography and had similar dreams to me started to drop off. And I don’t blame them. They’d given it an honest shot. But at some point life shows up and you have to pay the bills. I respect that. Im all for having a job that supports you so you can chase your dream. In fact I recommend it. But there’s one huge difference between those people and me. Taking the new job for them meant saying bye to something they once loved. I took a random job at a hotel when I needed to, second shot for weddings, flipped phones on eBay and basically did whatever I could because quitting wasn’t in the cards. For them, the job killed their dream, for me it kept it alive. I’ve personally worked with dozens of creators and it’s always the same story. They absolutely love photography but they’re afraid that if they don’t figure out how to make it sustainable they’ll lose the opportunity forever. And it’s hard because their peers around them that were with them on the journey are starting to drop out and it feels like an impossible journey. Like everything is working against you. But this is what separates the hobbyist gap year people from the ones that make a career. The ones that are able to stick it out and adapt end up building incredible careers for themselves just out of sheer grit and necessity. Scroll through my recent videos, look at the client wins highlight, or better yet watch some client interviews on my YouTube and you’ll see tons of stories of creators who felt exactly how you do now overcome the odds. Is it hard… YUP Does it make logical sense… Not really Is it worth the trouble… 100% YES Sometimes freelance life can feel like a lonely place (especially at that stage) so let’s change that. Introduce yourself in the comments with your niche and let’s support each other. Also I’m open to any ideas that you think would support you in the journey. Feel free to comment or DM me directly. And yes I actually respond haha. Be blessed and stay stoked 😎🤙
