Life's Ingredients: A Chef's Perspective
Chef > cook -
Every once in a while I like to cook a good meal. My typical process is to find a recipe online, get the ingredients at the store and follow the directions. It’s honestly really easy to cook when that’s the case. Sometimes I even substitute out ingredients for things I already have at my house and it usually turns out decent (at least by my standards lol). -
But the difference between me cooking and a chef is in the details. A chef knows the quality of a meal is determined by the quality of the ingredients as well as very specifically orchestrated things like amount of time kneading, cook temp, cook time etc. a chef has a deep understanding of what will work and why it will work, unlike me just following directions and trying to make it work with what I got. -
Here’s the point. A lot of us treat God like a cook. We give him the ingredients we have or want and show Him a picture of what we want the meal (life) to look like. But when it doesn’t turn out like we hoped, we blame God for not being there to support us. -
God is not a cook. He’s a chef. You can’t blame him for the meal if you don’t let Him choose the ingredients. You can’t blame God for how your life is going if you don’t let him change your mindset and choices. -
Like a chef, God has an intimate knowledge of every ingredient and situation that you could encounter and knows how to mix it together to create an amazing product, the question is, will you be willing to use His ingredients, or are you gonna be stuck still trying your own. -
Be blessed and stay stoked 😎🤙 - •
