Is Content Creation Worth the Effort?

I was having a conversation with a creator the other day who was struggling to get brands to respond positively and they asked me if it's even worth it. Is it worth it to continue reaching out and get rejected? Is it worth it to take the time to learn how to sell? Is it worth it to even continue pursuing the dream? TBH I thought that many days when I was in the initial grind. I would go on a spree and send 50 emails one day only to get no responses, get discouraged and not send another for a month. It's easy to get in your head and wonder if you're just wasting your time. So are you? The truth is it depends. If you don't want to put in the work, and would rather complain about brands being cheap, or the algorithm hating you, or that there's too much competition then you are wasting your time, and you'd be better off finding a 9-5 and keeping content creation as a hobby. But if you are willing to suck at sales for a little, get rejected, get ghosted, and commit to sending the message or getting on the call anyway, then eventually you will suck so little that you will actually be good and at that point you can write your ticket. It's worth it because most people don't have the stamina to handle repeated rejection. There's actually very little real competition at the top because most everyone is fighting for scraps at the bottom (for the projects that don't pay anyway cause they aren't high value). I can guarantee you, if you commit to learning how to sell your content, you'll never have to worry about if it's worth it again. Be blessed and stay stoked 🤙😎
