A lone adventurer stands amidst a desolate, otherworldly landscape of rugged terrain and towering mountains shrouded in misty clouds. The hiker, clad in practical outdoor attire and a backpack, treads cautiously over the rocky, boulder-strewn path, their presence dwarfed by the imposing natural surroundings. The scene exudes a sense of isolation, harshness, and the raw power of nature, with the sulfurous fumes rising in the distance adding an eerie, almost primordial atmosphere. The image captures the allure and challenge of exploring remote, untamed environments, where breathtaking vistas coexist with the ever-present risks and discomforts of the great outdoors.

Hiking to the Sulfur Crater

This may be one of the most epics sends of my life. Myself and 3 other friends @lukestockman @brendonhayward and @itsjulian decided pretty last minute to drive through the night 5 hours. Take a car boat ferry across the ocean then drive another 2 hours to get to the base of this crater by 3:30 Am. It was so cold we could see our breath and was one of the steepest climbs I’ve done in a while. After about 1.5 hours of hiking we made it to the bottom of the sulfur crater where the fumes were so intense that we had to wear gas masks. It honestly looked like we were on another planet. The toxic fumes didn’t just smell like rotten eggs, they burned our eyes yet miners worked through the night, many without any mask at all, making 2-3 trips to and from the mine for a measly $10/day. It was a humbling experience and I’m excited to share the video with y’all tomorrow so stay tuned! Be blessed and stay stoked😎🤙 • • • • • •
