Gratitude for God's Timing and Vision

I know I’m a day late but happy thanksgiving! If you asked me when I was 16 shooting home videos on my brand new canon t2i if I thought I would be living in Hawaii, with a beautiful wife, traveling for jobs with amazing companies and shooting videos for a living, I would have thought you’d be writing a fairytale. Fast forward and it’s incredible to see where God has brought me so far. And with all those amazing things, I’ve noticed one of my fatal flaws is discontentment. Because I have big dreams, I often get impatient and I don’t take enough time to be grateful for how far God has brought me already. A lot of times I try to charge ahead and say come on Jesus let’s go, but he’s been teaching me recently that his timing is best. He’s teaching me that the source of my discontentment is not just impatience, but also jealousy and unhealthy competition and the only way to remedy that is what it says in psalm 100 - “enter his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise.” God has a big plan for every single person, but sometimes he won’t allow you to realize the full potential of it until you are ready. I knew for a long time that artists are the heartbeat of culture and that I was supposed to help creators make a living with their art so they could impact the culture for the good. I attempted to do it a few times in the past but the timing wasn’t right. God shut that door because He had more things to teach me first. That didn’t mean it wasn’t a calling, it just meant I wasn’t ready. Im not saying I’ve made it by any stretch. In fact this is just the first step of the journey. But I do know that God is working on my heart, my motives, and my desires so that I can be fully aligned with what he wants. I pray that if you find yourself impatient with the speed your dreams are progressing, to turn to Gid and look back at how far he’s taken you so far. And if you’ve never invited him to show you, that you would take that first step. If you don’t know how, shoot me a message and I’d love to help :) Be blessed and stay stoked 😎🤙
