Finding Wisdom in Criticism

Our memory is selective and defective. - In most cases we interpret people’s advice and intentions through our mood, therefore depending on how we feel, we’ll hear the same thing in a different way. - That’s why if you’re having bad day and someone gives you nice constructive helpful advice, you get even more pissed and see it as criticism. - It’s because we let the ego get involved, and when your ego gets involved you don’t hear anything after the sentence that shut you down. - The key is the take off the lens of emotion and be able to find the gold nuggets in the mound of dirt of criticism. Even the haters may have some good advice. I want to be the kind of person who can find the good in criticism and be able to selectively judge from an objective point of view. That way I can avoid getting into unnecessary ego trips. Never let ego get in the way of progress. Be blessed and stay stoked😎🤙
