Finding Fulfillment in God's Love
The sad byproduct of being human is that what we want often doesn’t align with what we need, so we feel empty. -
We want a car, but we really want attention because we need to feel loved. We want a relationship but what we really need is acceptance. We want the best body, but what we need is acknowledgement. -
The problem is what we actually need is true love (not the romantic type although that’s good too). We were created for connection both with others and with our creator. We were created for the kind of love that accepts us as we are, acknowledges us, yet continually encourages us to be better people and not have the same desires and habits we had before. We need a tough love that never fails. -
God wants to be God in our life, but often times we replace Him with other little gods. Things like money, fitness, relationships, success, or literally anything else that takes up our mind space more than Him. There’s nothing wrong with that stuff. It’s all neutral, but when we value them over our relationship with Him they become gods (little g).
When we try to play god and replace Him with things we want, it usually never aligns with what we actually need. Most of the loneliness, depression, anxiety, and anger in the world can ultimately be traced back to our constant putting a bandaid on a symptom rather than addressing our heart. -
If you feel empty I encourage you to call out to God. He knows what you need because He created you loves you and wants to have relationship with you as you are right now. -
Be blessed and stay stoked 😎🤙 -
