Embracing the Illusion of Control
Many of us are grieving the illusion of control. -
Idk about you but one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned through this quarantine situation is how out of control I am of situations. -
I think a lot of us, myself included have fallen into this illusion of control. Basically it’s the bias that wants to believe you are in control even though you aren’t. But the problem is it’s a viscous cycle. The more out of control you feel, the more control you want to have, and the more control you have the more out of control you become. -
Some of the things we thought we controlled the most turned out to be an illusion. What messages we were fed through media, being able to go where we want, having a stable job, even being able to go to restaurants, all things that are fairly standard, have been swept away and we’re left in an out of control situation. -
That kills some of us. Some of us have an ego so wrapped up in controlling situations that when we can’t anymore we don’t know what to do. Surrender is not in the playbook, but surrender is all that we got. See in the same way that the more you control, the more anxiety and stress you have; the less you control, the more peace and understanding you have. -
I hope quarantine has woken you up to the illusion of control, now it’s time to give it up and let God. -
Be blessed and stay stoked 😎🤙 -
