Embracing Life's Valleys

The pressure to feel pleasure is why so many people are depressed. - With the rise of social media and the tendency for everyone to post their highlights, everyone feels like they have to be in a constant state of stoke to keep up. If we’re not, we think there’s something wrong with us or we deem ourselves “loners.” It’s unsustainable and completely unrealistic. - It’s a strange concept. When in the history of the world has their been such an invisible force pressuring us to have fun? Actually not have fun but put on the appearance of having fun because to be honest, many times situations are highly stressful but we put on a smile because we are “supposed to.” - One of the classic examples is at a night club. Many times I feel like people are pretending to have fun because they are supposed to and everyone else is appearing to have fun so it’s just a merry go round of fakeness. - The strange thing is in a lot of cases, the pressure is not direct peer pressure but rather a pressure that we put on our own selves. - It’s time to take a stand and realize that life is not made to be a constant state of euphoria. There’s ups and downs for a reason and trying to avoid the downs only makes it a higher fall. - Embrace the valleys. - Be blessed and stay stoked😎🤙
