The book of proverbs is full of wisdom, and one of my favorites is this… Where there is no vision the people perish, but he that keeps the law, happy is he. Proverbs 29:18 Now this verse is specifically talking about why God gave us law and how it’s wise to live by them. Not because we are forced to but because it was life’s original design and that’s how it works best. In the same way, if you don’t have a vision for where you want to go in your creative career, you will flounder, stumble, and eventually hit a crossroads where you either have to quit and get a “real job” or actually buckle up, study, practice, fail, get better and succeed. There is no shortcut, but the success option takes vision. You have to know what companies you can work with, who to reach out to, how to find them, what your response rate is, your booking rate, show up rate, close rate. You have to have a specified customer journey, and milestones they hit in order to hopefully land them as a retainer. You have to know pricing, packages, long term retention strategies, and that just scratches the surface. If you thought having a vision is just chilling on the beach and shooting for resorts every weekend, I’m sorry someone has led you to believe that. There’s a whole lot more to it. But if you just read this and realized you don’t have a specified vision for each of these metrics and you want to have a business that can stand the test of time, DM me CREATE and I’ll show you how!
