Differentiating Greatness from Fame
People don’t know the difference between greatness and fame. -
I think especially in my generation and the generation below me, there is an incredible lust for fame and “clout”. People do all kinds of stupid things to get views and followers. -
The problem is, we are confusing fame with greatness and even worse, we’re confusing authority with followers. Just because someone has a lot of followers doesn’t make them an authority. -
I’ll be completely honest. I don’t have a doctorate in anything or even a masters. I’ve never written a book on a subject, I have spoken at a few seminars, but for the most part, I am not really an authority on anything. I can say my opinion and limited experience and research, but that’s about it. Meanwhile, there’s plenty of people with zero followers that are the people you should be listening to. -
Just because you’re famous doesn’t make you great, AND just because your great doesn’t mean you’re famous. They actually are not related at all. Theres plenty of famous people that are doing more harm than good meanwhile, the person you walk by at the grocery store could be an incredible inspiration on your life but you never know because you don’t say Hi. -
You don’t have to be brad Pitt to be great, you don’t have to be Tony Robbins, or LeBron, or Casey Neistat, or even have 1 follower. Greatness is determined by how you treat people and if you carry out THE MISSION. -
Be blessed and stay stoked 😎🤙 - •
