Unforgettable Outdoor Adventures

August has been exceptionally good to me, probably the peak month of the entire year. I camped 14/30 nights in some of the most beautiful settings around Mt Rainier and the North Cascades I backpacked the entirety of the wonderland trail for 9 days and 8 nights. Saw 5 bears and over 40 goats and many wondrous views. Got to take up aquatic canyoning for the first time in 4 years of canyoneering in the southwest, run 4 routes so far and meet some rad humans that instantly felt like my kind of people. Headed back to a few favorite šŸ”ļø spots, vesper peak and Winchester mountain, for some mountain sleep time under the stars (mountain sleep is my deepest/best sleep) And the best part was I got to share my love of backpacking with a couple of friends who were new to it and teach them everything I know so they can enjoy it themselves with all the comfort and safety of being shown vs learning the hard way like I did. That felt the most rewarding and heartfelt of everything this month. I even managed to sneak in some sailing, paddle boarding, yoga at gasworks, and spend time with some wonderful friends. Oh and ORCAS SHOWED UP AT THE BEACH the other night 30 ft from shore - was magical. All in all this was an unforgettable month filled with time with great people and time outside and my heart couldnā€™t be more full. This picture shows it all, you donā€™t need much to be happy and create memories of your dreams. Sometimes it will all fit in a pack you carry on your back.
