Within the cavernous opening stands a lone individual, dwarfed by the towering sandstone walls, admiring the expansive desert landscape that unfolds before them. The distant horizon is painted with a rich tapestry of terracotta and olive hues, punctuated by sparse vegetation. The image exudes a sense of wonder and exploration, inviting the viewer to contemplate the grandeur of nature's artistry.

The Wave Lottery: Chasing Nature's Wonders

Applied for the wave for the 10th time yesterday and didn’t get it. 130 applications were submitted for 10 spots on a Monday and the lottery is now held in a gym it’s grown so popular. Spent the rest of the day with one of my dearest friends off roading, and exploring places we had been curious about but had previously passed by. I may never get the wave permit even though I lived just an hour from there in a past life, but it’s been fun to try, to see the joy in the faces of others when they “win”, to appreciate the fragility of a place and the importance of limiting access to a lucky few daily, and making the most of backup plans with every attempt.
