Solo Travel Photography Tips Wanted

If I could go back and change anything about my 3 months spent solo backpacking through Central America (it was supposed to be a year around the world) in 2020, it would be to have been bold in taking solo pictures and practicing at it. All I have Are soso selfies and landscapes shot with my phone. Looking at digital Nomading again this spring alone, and I am going to make it a personal mission to become adept at solo travel photography. Where should I go??
