One Month on the Road: Adventures in the American West
As of yesterday, we’ve been on the road with our cat Ellie for 1 month so far, on our way to Mexico.
Here’s a quick recap of all that we’ve been to and seen on the road from Seattle to Red Rock, NV this month…
Crystal Crane Hot Springs OR - great stay and soak
Remote BLM NV hot spring (you can find them for yourself by using Google)
1 week in Death Valley NP attending the Uberfest Adventures 4-day Canyoneering event and exploring the park
4 days in Alabama Hills, CA -hiking and exploring (weather was too poor to climb)
A bit less than 1 Week in Riverside, CA with family over Christmas making tamales and enjoying family time
5 days in Joshua Tree NP climbing and exploring with Camilo’s daughter over New Years
1 week in Red Rock, NV climbing and visiting friends
Next week we’ll be in Southern Utah for a week visiting friends and canyoneering and then heading south for the border of Mexico.
All the while I’ve been working remotely with Starlink and from Libraries and Starbucks.
This journey has been peppered with awe-inspiring sunrises & sunsets, adventures, art installation pit-stops, quality time catching up with family and friends, and enjoying western US parks in the amount of time my former corporate lifestyle would have taken me 2 years to complete with 2-week vacation limitations.
It’s not always the easiest being on the road. It’s a resilient way to travel that has made me appreciate commonplace comforts to the fullest. I love this and formerly used to wish and daydream about living out of my comfort zone to be perpetually in a state of expansion and gratitude and able to enjoy the freedom of going wherever I want when I want. Freedom is a gift that comes at the price of foregoing comfortable/easier options and sacrificing for it.
Follow along as we make our way to Mexico, Friends. Just like the food, the adventures to and in Mexico are sure to be spicy 🌶️😀
