Happy Gotcha Day, my sweet Ellie! Today marks 11 incredible years since you came into my life, my little love. From the moment I brought you home, you’ve been my constant companion, my greatest comfort, & my biggest adventure buddy. Together, we’ve crossed 14 states, explored 2 countries outside the U.S., & roamed countless corners of the western United States. Every journey has been better because you were by my side. your incredible adaptability & spirit amaze me. started life as an apartment cat for 7 years. in these last 4 years, you’ve become the ultimate adventurer. You lived aboard a yacht for 4 years, soaking in the water life & embracing the serenity of floating homes. you’ve gone sailing, proving you’re just as comfortable with the wind in your fur as you are in calmer waters. You’ve traveled via truck camper, & a Jeep, navigating road-life with ease. Whether it’s paddle boarding, hiking, or exploring new destinations, you’re always up for the adventure. You remind me every day that home isn’t a place—it’s wherever we are together. Your calm, curious nature & ability to thrive no matter the circumstances mirror my own & inspire me endlessly. Whether on land, at sea, or in the mountains, you’ve been my constant through it all, adapting with grace & reminding me to live in the moment. you’ve been my anchor & my light. In the hardest times, you’ve kept me grounded, & in the best moments, you’ve been right there to share the joy. Watching you soak in the world with curiosity & grace has reminded me to do the same. You’ve given me endless reasons to smile, from your quirky habits to the quiet way you always seem to know exactly when I need you most. Sharing this life with you has been one of my greatest joys & I couldn’t be more grateful for every single day we’ve had together. Here’s to the countless memories we’ve made & the ones still to come. I hope we have at least another decade to wander, explore, & make this world ours.
