Fall in Alaska: A Nature's Spectacle
After living in Alaska for 2 years (2 winters or more considers you a “sourdough” and not a chichacko” by local standards), and working in the tourism market there for 6, Fall has always been my favorite season in the last frontier.
Animals are everywhere trying to seize the last of the spoils of summer, the bugs dissipate, the foliage explodes in a riot of oranges, yellows, and reds as far as the eyes can see, the air becomes crisp, and I have had my personal best experiences whale watching and seeing the northern lights in fall - once seeing a pod of 31 surround our boat in a magical scene I will never forget. Rate-wise prices drop after LBD as summer season turns to fall.
Is Alaska on your Bucket list? Try Fall. You wont be disappointed 😉
