Discovering Nature's Tranquil Vista
There’s no such thing as a wrong choice. There’s only what you do with the choices you make.
The path to the view always begins with the first step. The choice is yours on this “choose your own adventure” route and wherever you are, that’s where you’re supposed to be until your next step that no one can make for you, but you.
On this “hike” there was a paved path all the way to the lookout platform and it was peppered with 100+ visitors. I checked it out, and made a note of how my body felt in this moment - overcome with a sense of crowdedness, underwhelm, and a creeping hint of anxiety. I decided to leave and hook left. The path departed the pavement, turned to dirt. There were turns and twists and I had no idea where I was going through the thick of the forest. I just kept walking, following my inner compass away from the masses.
Along this new, unpopulated route, I met a couple women who shared my sentiment about the viewing Platform. Together, we discovered THIS location. Free of tourists, unpaved, unaltered by the hand of man, and “discovered” by a handful of fellow travelers and photographers I had the pleasure of spending time, sharing stories, places, and the sunset with. My kind of perfect memory.
Don’t be afraid to walk the unknown path without a plan, you might just find exactly what you’re looking for and be treated to your perfect view, with your kind of people.
