Conquering the Night Summit
I have become the kind of woman that can wake up at 11pm, 10k ft camped on the most heavily glaciated mountain in the lower 48. Gear up full of metal, ice ax in hand while lightning illuminates the foreboding sky. Turn towards the threatening ominous cloud blanketing the mountain path ahead, prepared to climb thousands of feet surrounded by crevasses and darkness, and say “I’m ready, let’s go.”
We are not what we say we’ll do, we are what we do. Who do you want to become? For me, it’s her. A deeper, stronger version of the woman I just described. I’ve been waiting to meet her all my life, knowing she was within me, I just had to set her free and re-wild.
