Cherry Blossoms in Bloom at UW

🌸 🌸 🌸 The Cherry blossoms are in bloom at the UW quad now through the beginning of April. Known in Japan as “Sakura” these beautiful blossoms only last several weeks from March to early April across the hemisphere and canvas the trees they bloom in with an explosion of color and fragrance. In Japan, the locals practice “Hanami” which is an annual celebration of “flower watching” of the Sakura in springtime. Hanami involves picnics, gathering under the trees with food and beverage, and basking in the blossoms as they gently snow the area with petals. What’s not to love about celebrating nature and the welcoming of a new season? Grab a blanket, food, umbrella and date or friends, as you enjoy your own version of Hanami with the cherry blossoms at UW, or your surrounding area.
