A serene and breathtaking scene unfolds along a river canyon, where towering rock cliffs rise majestically on either side, their rugged and colorful formations carved by the relentless force of water over eons. The river flows with a greenish-blue hue, its surface reflecting the brilliant azure sky above, dotted with wispy clouds. In the foreground, a small inflatable boat navigates the calm waters, carrying a small group of adventurers. One person, donning a blue shirt and hat, sits at the front of the boat, rowing and guiding their journey through this natural wonder. Another figure, clad in a red jacket, appears to be capturing the moment, perhaps with a camera or simply taking in the awe-inspiring surroundings. The image exudes a sense of tranquility and exploration, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in the beauty of nature's grand canvas.

Celebrating Womanhood: You Go Girl

You row girl! Growing up, the word “girl” came with a lot of shame for me. Anytime I was told I did anything “like a girl” it was meant with a negative connotation (which was often). Even the things I was good at like running, I was given the nickname “bay watch” because of my long stride, soccer - “barbie.” As I aged, in business I was often told “think and act like a man to get ahead.” 🤢 I’m thankful that times have changed. I didn’t get to take pride in and fully embrace being a “girl” when I was a young one. I would often try not to“act or be like one” in an effort to be capable at anything. I now want to lend strength and loudness to the voices touting “GO GIRL,” as a positive. As strength. Power. Capability. Wisdom. ENOUGH. The things I was never taught that the word came packed with. Its such a wonderful thing to be and grow up as a girl into womanhood and learn all that we’re capable of. This narrative is what kept me from the outside for most of my life. I am fully wild these days, but it’s because I challenged being told “you can’t do that, you’re a girl.” “Its not safe for you” “you’ll get hurt” “that’s for boys” “you are not strong enough” “you are too small” by all the “every bodies” surrounding me in my youth. This period of growth for me is all about teaching the girl in me, you can, and you always could have. I am re-doing my girl-hood over as we speak and high-fiving the younger me nowadays. And she’s thriving, glowing and doing cartwheels over here... has yet to find a limit. If you’re afraid to get out and do things because you never have, because you don’t think you can, because you were told you can’t, or for whatever reason. If you have the slightest curiosity about what you’re capable of, FOLLOW IT. PUSH IT. FIND IT. And to take a page from Nike’s book (the goddess of victory btw) JUST DO IT. I promise you you will break and exceed limits you never thought possible. You go girl.
