Kids Activities
A young boy clad in a bright green long-sleeved top and maroon shorts is seated in a blue inflatable raft, paddling through a flowing river surrounded by rugged canyon walls and lush greenery. The river bed is rocky, and the water appears to be moving swiftly, creating ripples and small waves. The steep canyon walls are composed of reddish-brown sedimentary rock formations, with patches of evergreen vegetation clinging to the slopes. The scenery suggests a remote, wilderness area with a pristine natural environment.

Summer Water Safety Tips for Kids

This summer watch out for lake, pool and hot tub bacteria. If kids are taking a swim in a lake, river or pool this summer, be mindful of bacteria that could hurt their eyes. While it isn’t extremely common, bacteria and other microorganisms found in bodies of water can cause serious eye infections. This is one of many helpful summer safety tips available from our partner, The @AmericanOptometricAssociation - the AOA has created a handy checklist available here:  www.aoa.org/summercamp
