A vivid turquoise blue letter W is the prominent feature of the image, accompanied by a whimsical whale crafted from the same vibrant shade. The stylized letter W is solid and stands tall, its curves accentuated by the whale's form hugging the sides. The whale's body is a semicircular shape, with an eye made from a googly eye and water spouts or blowholes crafted from pipe cleaners or yarn in a lighter blue hue. The whale's tail curves upwards, adding a playful and dynamic element. The ensemble is set against a pristine white background, allowing the bold blue tones to truly pop.

W is for Whale Alphabet Craft

Making a letter and pairing it with an animal will help your preschooler learn through this multi-sensory alphabet activity. As they put together this craft the letter “W” will become more then just markings on the paper. While we make this craft, I like to have my kids trace the letter with their finger and say the name of the letter, and then we trace it again making the “W” sound repeatedly. We also sing “Down by the Bay where the Watermelons Grow” and hold our fingers up in a “W” shape when we say a word that starts with W. The verse with the Whale who has the polka dot tale matches this craft perfectly. The kids love listening for the W words to shoot their hand into the air before the word is over. Don’t be surprised if you see polka dots appear on your child’s craft, lol. Supplies: Blue and white craft paper Googly eyes Pipe Cleaners, yarn, or blue marker Scissors Glue Directions: Cut out a W from the blue paper. If your child is already using scissors you could trace the letter and have them cut it out. I gave my kids a whole W, but you could also give them strips of paper and have them build the letter on their paper. Glue the letter W down to the white paper. Trace out a whale shape and draw a line in the middle. Cut it out or have your child cut it out and glue it to the sides of the letter W. Have your child use the Pipe Cleaners, yarn, or blue marker to add the water spouting out. That’s it, thanks for crafting with us.
