Other people say, screw that noise; let’s go travel somewhere where it’s EVEN COLDER. If this is you, and you’re planning some winter travel, I have some great advice based on what’s worked for me during an unusually cold December in the Baltics, which have a reputation for being unusually cold ANYWAY. With a whole bunch of careful layering, and the right outerwear (and underwear), you can enjoy walking around the beautiful towns of Helsinki, Tallinn, and Riga - or some of the cities of Canada, Scandinavia, Iceland…really, wherever you visit in this world that’s only barely passable for human habitation, but still gorgeous. I got most of my stuff from @oysho - not sponsored by them, just like them - but no matter where you buy from, make sure you check what temperature all your layers are marked as suitable for. How to dress for winter travel: ✅ Thermal underwear ✅ Fleece lined pants/leggings ✅ Wool sweater ✅ First outerwear layer (fleece!) ✅ Wool socks - alpaca or merino ✅ Down jacket graded for COLD temps ✅ Winter beanie/anything to cover ears and head ✅ Scarf/balaclava ✅ One pair of lighter gloves that let you use your hands ✅ One pair of heavier ski gloves or mittens for the really cold nights
