One of the things that stands out to me about #Greece is how much both buildings and lifestyles revolve around the #sea. •••••• A huge majority of people in the country live (at most) within 30 miles of the coast. Small marinas with fishing boats, sailboats, yachts are everywhere. Greeks who want to go on vacation hop on a ferry and head to one of over 200 islands. Almost every free summer day is spent on the #beach. Restaurants, cafes, and bars are crammed on the coastline as much as possible. Doctors will tell you to take a dip in the salty ocean water to clear your sinuses right up. •••••• I grew up fascinated by the ocean, and I now have a very real level of discomfort whenever I'm too far inland. There's something about the sight of water that's still calming and reassuring. •••••• To many more beautiful days by the shore.
