A solitary woman is standing in the midst of an abandoned and dilapidated industrial space, surrounded by crumbling concrete pillars and beams. The ceiling above her is stained and peeling, revealing layers of discolored paint and neglect. Despite the decaying surroundings, the woman appears pensive and contemplative, gazing upwards with her hands clasped together near her face. Her blue top and black pants provide a vibrant contrast against the drab and lifeless backdrop. The scene evokes a sense of urban exploration and the haunting beauty found in forgotten places.

I’ve always loved exploring and photographing abandoned buildings. From abandoned houses on the Greek islands, to the ghost towns of the western US, there’s something haunting and intriguing about being in a place that housed so much life and history, now empty. •• Throwback to when the @nationalparkservice and @matadornetwork had me exploring the urban national parks of San Francisco - including the abandoned prison factories of Alcatraz (pictured here). . . . . .
