A peaceful countryside path winds through a lush green field, bordered by a vibrant line of red poppies in full bloom. Tall trees line the path, their foliage a rich green hue, creating a natural canopy overhead. In the distance, a small village can be seen nestled among the trees, with a church spire rising above the rooftops. The path is paved and well-maintained, inviting travelers to explore the idyllic rural landscape. The sky is a beautiful shade of blue, with wispy clouds adding texture to the serene scene.

Next favorite #cycling experience: biking from Mantova to Lago di Garda. •• Biking through the Italian countryside is exactly as beautiful as it sounds. This path follows the Mincio River, and ends in the village of Peschiera del Garda on the edge of the famous lake. •• At around 44 km/27.3 miles, the path took a little over 4 hours to complete including stops in the villages I passed on the way (and a lunchtime stop) - a direct bike ride with no stops would probably take 2.5-3, but I really recommend looking around the villages for a while. •• Biking in May provided great views - poppies in bloom, green fields and river reflections - but also a fair amount of heat and insects to deal with. I recommend this route very highly to people who aren’t expert cyclists but want a nice long countryside/sightseeing ride. #losethemap . . . . .
