A breathtaking panoramic view from a high vantage point on Mount Kilimanjaro, overlooking the city of Moshi below. The foreground features a person clad in warm outdoor gear, sitting on a rocky outcrop, gazing out at the vast expanse before them. In the distance, the city lights of Moshi twinkle against the backdrop of a dusky sky, with scattered clouds drifting across the horizon. Numerous tents and campsites dot the rugged terrain, indicating the presence of other hikers and mountaineers. The scene exudes a sense of serenity and adventure, capturing the awe-inspiring beauty of the natural landscape and the allure of conquering one of the world's highest peaks.

The clouds cleared below us at Karanga Camp, and gave us this great view of the city of #Moshi below us. One more day to base camp. •• The rock I am standing on was cell phone rock. I’m just calling it that because there was reception here, so people kept scrambling up to text their loved ones that they’re fine. •• However, I kind of enjoyed being completely disconnected. I would walk up, text my mom I’m safe and healthy, then walk back down and leave the world of e-mails and voicemails (still, in 2018 🙄) and the outside world intruding on my disconnected, relaxing cocoon of simplicity behind me. •• Wake up at dawn, eat, hike, eat, chat and laugh, read, sleep. It’s a beautiful life up there. ❤️ . . .
