#Cartagena can be really crowded, especially when I went there. It is a big destination for South Americans, and I was their during their winter holidays, which for many extend past Christmas and New Years by about a week.

If you want to get some less crowded shots in a tourist spot, just head out with your camera in the morning. It doesn’t have to be super early - even when I was out around 8 or 9 there weren’t that many people, AND the light was better. Take all the photos you want, then find a great breakfast place, settle down, and watch the streets gradually fill back up.
