A vibrant and colorful scene captures a colonial-style doorway in Cartagena, Colombia. The massive wooden door, standing approximately 12 feet tall, is painted a rich blue hue, adorned with intricate metal studs and a grated window. The weathered terracotta walls surrounding the entrance are adorned with lush greenery cascading from overhead, creating a striking contrast against the vivid colors. In the foreground, a local woman stands before the imposing doorway, wearing a striped maxi dress and sandals, her casual stance adding a touch of life and scale to the image. The play of light and shadow casts patterns across the scene, enhancing the depth and texture of this captivating cultural snapshot.

Just going through these sunnier pictures because the rain is really starting to get me down. •• The doors in #Cartagena are enormous. If you look on the right side, you’ll see a smaller door outline - this is what people actually use to exit and enter. Can you imagine having to pull this whole 12-ft tall door open every time you want to pop in somewhere? . . . .
