Continuing the holiday theme, throwback to me feeding reindeer in Norway. And trying to keep a fair distance from their antlers to avoid accidental disembowelment.
Male and female reindeer both grow antlers, just at different times of the year - males to fight for females, females to fight for food for themselves and their young. They also leave their pack and go solo when they sense themselves getting close to death, so they can protect the herd by not slowing them down. This has been #darkassfactsaboutRudolph , so you’re welcome for that in the holiday season.
Did you also know there’s a whole ethnic group of people in northern Scandinavia called the Sami who are mostly reindeer herders? I wrote all about them, you can check the post out in my stories!
