I loved taking the Lemosho Route because it’s definitely one of the most scenic routes on the mountain. It’s the longest route, and one of the quieter ones. So you get to enjoy beautiful views, acclimatize to the altitude, and not have too many people clogging up the trail.

Because for me, Kilimanjaro wasn’t about getting up the mountain fast. It was about taking in as much as I could from this amazing landscape. Running up the mountain with an altitude headache and out of breath, worrying about whether I would have to turn back because of altitude sickness, would not have let me enjoy this experience in the same way.
