Thoughts like “why the hell am I doing this?” were racing through my head as we hiked up 1,400 ft of elevation at 3am in morning to reach this view... and then we arrived and my jaw dropped. It’s moments like these were I have realized that placing myself in uncomfortable situations is 100% worth it. Sleep deprivation, burning quads and sore and achy muscles are all temporary... but I may only get to see places like this a few times in my life. I am not going to let a little discomfort get in the way of living life to the fullest🤙🏻
I’ve spent a handful of days during the past week chasing fall colors around the Columbia River Gorge and Mt. Hood National Forest. Just enjoying the fresh air and being on the road again, even for only a day at a time. I found a few new spots off the beaten path and made a note to check out some of them a bit earlier in the season next year and then made my way back to a few classics. I’ll never get tired of seeing this beauty all decked out in gold🍁🍂
