with the smoke clearing a bit and the air quality warnings gone from the Mt. Hood area we excitedly packed up and headed off to Mirror Lake trail to hike with @drinkevolve. It started to pour on the drive there and we were a little uncertain if we’d even be able to hike without getting soaked. As we arrived at the trailhead the rain faded and we were left with that amazingly fresh, post rain smell and crisp clean air. We started our hike in the dark, with the hope that some of the fog higher up would burn off… spoiler alert, it did not. While we may not have gotten to see the mountain this time, there really is no end to the beauty in nature and breathing in that fresh mountain air was exhilarating. We watched at the top as the fog rushed past us, staying until the warmth from the hike up left our bodies.
