It was only a few weeks ago that I was standing by an alpine lake, 10.5 mi into the Central Oregon backcountry, looking back at where we set up camp as it was illuminated by the setting sun✨
It was a moment of calm simplicity, and now, just a few short weeks later, this area we camped in is on the edge of two massive fires, and nearly 900,000 acres have burned in Oregon.
This is more area than wildfires have burned in the past 10 years combined, and countless families are being, or have been evacuated... It’s a devastating loss for all who have already been affected and will continue to be affected... 😔
