A breathtaking winter landscape showcasing the rugged beauty of the Smith Rock State Park in central Oregon. The scene depicts towering rock formations, their jagged silhouettes piercing the hazy blue sky, their surfaces blanketed in a pristine layer of freshly fallen snow. In the foreground, a field of dried golden grass sways gently, its stalks adorned with delicate crystals of snow, creating a mesmerizing contrast with the majestic backdrop. The image captures the serene and tranquil atmosphere that nature often unveils in the wake of a winter snowfall.

I’ve been chasing these conditions for over 3 years now. Each time I’ve been in central Oregon during the winter I’ve either been a day early, or late and just missed a snowfall here. This year it finally friggin happened! After finishing up shooting down along the McKenzie River, I looked at the weather forecast for Smith Rock and there was a 70% change of snow... good enough for me! So Jake and I cruised over and it was something else to see! It was second only to seeing snow in Joshua Tree earlier this year. It kept coming down faster and faster while we were there. It’s easily one of the best feelings to finally check this off my bucket list☃️ Tomorrow I will be posting the road shot everyone has been asking about😉✌🏻
