Travel Industry Called to #PullUpForTravel on Diversity Statistics
It's time to hold travel brands and destinations accountable! @theblacktravelalliance is a newly formed group that is working to do just that. You can find full details in the re-post from @packslight -- who is one of the founders -- below. Note that both Black and non-Black creators/travelers can sign up. Additionally, you can forward the link to your favorite travel brands/destinations to help the Alliance gather data.

Time to take #BlackOutTuesday beyond a black square. @theblacktravelalliance is asking all travel companies who have released a statement of support for Black lives to #PullUpForTravel and—within the next 72 hrs—publicly provide the following information:
⠀
👏🏽 Employment - Number and percentage of Black people in management & on staff
⠀
👏🏽 Conferences & Tradeshows - Black representation on speaker panels, workshops, sessions, etc
⠀
👏🏽 Media Representation - Black representation in paid advertisements and marketing campaigns
⠀
👏🏽 Press - Black representation as media and in press trips
⠀
👏🏽 Philanthropy - Charitable contributions and support (i.e. mentorship and intern programs, etc.) to Black charities and community groups
⠀
I saw a lot of black squares and RTs from companies, but not a lot of actionable promises. Like, I want the deets. The dates. The numbers.
⠀
Our ears are open!👂🏽Tell is your stats by Juneteenth and help us build a more equitable travel industry for the next generation.
