I call this "Sun Clouds & Colors On Grand Lake." Though I flew into Denver, I took a shuttle two hours north to Grand Lake, nicknamed the "Western Gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park." Here, time slows down with rustic wooden homes and inns, lush nature, surrounding mountains and beautiful bodies of water, including the namesake Grand Lake pictured above, which I'll be kayaking today. This view was taken from the historic Grand Lake Lodge, built in 1920 and featuring a cozy interior and balcony overlooking the water and pool. Tip: Their buffalo meatloaf is a must-have dish!
