Start Your Day with Joy
What is the first thing you do when you wake up?
☕
For those still struggling with this whole working-from-home thing, I wanted to share one of the most powerful rituals I've discovered while working from home/the road since 2011.
💪
Start your day by doing something you love. 👈
👏👏👏
I know it sounds simple, but it's not something I think many people do — I know I didn't for a long time.
🛌
When we talk about morning routines they always include yoga, meditation, and journaling — all healthy practices, particularly for setting goals and intentions, and three things I personally love — but if that’s not you, that’s fine. Maybe it’s drinking coffee by the window, singing, dancing, playing with your pet, reading a book in the bath, volunteering — whatever. Just do it first thing.
🧘
Used to commute to work? Here is an implementation tip: Take that time that you used to spend driving/taking the train, and use it for self-care.
🛀
By doing this, you set the tone for the entire rest of your day from a place of joy, and this comes out in everything you do and create.
🤗
I'm sharing this not to sound preachy, but as someone who has seen the extreme benefits of this simple daily shift. Instead of hopping right into Instagram or emails, I spend the time from 6am-8am doing things I love. These activities can change based on how I’m feeling. The point is you get those good vibes immediately and use them to set your point of attraction for the day.
🌅
I recommend making this a ritual during quarantine and BEYOND. 🙌#BeyondTheGuidebook #MyrtleBeachSC
