Skógafoss Waterfall: Iceland's Stunning Natural Wonder

While touring Iceland's South Coast, one not-to-miss stop is Skógafoss Waterfall. Yes, there will be tons of tourists taking selfies there; however, it's still worth a trip, especially as you can climb up 527 steps to see the 25-meter-wide, 60-meter-high falls from above. * * * Of course, this is Iceland, so there's folklore to go along with almost every natural attraction. According to my @geoiceland_travel guide, there was a viking settler named Þrasi Þórólfsson hid a treasure behind the waterfall in 900. A group of men tried retrieving the chest, but jerked too hard and the ring got pulled off, the chest falling deeper in the waterfall.
