Skógafoss Waterfall: Iceland's Stunning Natural Wonder
While touring Iceland's South Coast, one not-to-miss stop is Skógafoss Waterfall. Yes, there will be tons of tourists taking selfies there; however, it's still worth a trip, especially as you can climb up 527 steps to see the 25-meter-wide, 60-meter-high falls from above. *

Of course, this is Iceland, so there's folklore to go along with almost every natural attraction. According to my @geoiceland_travel guide, there was a viking settler named Þrasi Þórólfsson hid a treasure behind the waterfall in 900. A group of men tried retrieving the chest, but jerked too hard and the ring got pulled off, the chest falling deeper in the waterfall. The chest is still there, and you can find the ring on the church door at Skógar.
