Savoring Mezcal Cocktails and Mexican Cuisine

Raise your hand if you LOVE mezcal?! ___ As a cocktail tour guide in NYC, I'm always surprised at how many people have never tried the smokey deliciousness that is mezcal. For me, if a spicy mezcal cocktail is on the menu, I'm ordering it. Which is why I was PUMPED when @Mexicue invited me to sample their Chelsea location menu -- including the "Smokey Margarita" featuring tequila blanco, mezcal, mole bitters, chili simple syrup, lime juice and chili lime salt. Yum! ___ To pair, I opted for...a lot. 😉The poke bowl, a brisket burnt ends burrito bullet and an assortment of tacos. My favorites: the Nashville Hot Chicken taco with creamy chipotle sauce and the BBQ Pulled Jackfruit taco laced with guacamole, pickled peppers, slaw, cilantro, bbq, cucumber and poblano salsa. 🌶️I've been obsessed with jackfruit ever since I went to Thailand 10 years ago, and it's rare I get to have it in the USA. ___ To finish the meal, the deconstructed churro paired nicely with a chocolatey bourbon cocktail.
